Catherine McTamaney, Ed.D. is an Associate Professor at Vanderbilt University's Peabody College, where she teaches coursework in early childhood development and children's development in the arts. An accomplished author for the Montessori community, Catherine's parent and teacher-focused blog, Montessori Daoshi, earned her the American Montessori Society's Montessori Innovator Award. She recently was honored for her contributions to the international Montessori community at the convening of the Montessori Group/St Nicholas Foundation in London, UK. She is the author of The Tao of Montessori and A Delicate Task: Teaching and Learning on a Montessori Path, as well as three teacher texts for the American Montessori Society and a widely used textbook on integrating the arts into early childhood and elementary classrooms. She's been a teacher educator, parent educator, school head, classroom teacher and, most importantly, Montessori mom, for over twenty five years.
